Four People Shot at Howe Park Sacramento - Unauthorized Gathering Turns Violent
Late Saturday evening, an unauthorized gathering of multiple hundreds of attendees at Howe Community Park in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento became the scene of a shooting when an estimated 20 to 25 gunshots filled the air as law enforcement officers were working to clearing the area.
A Timeline of Events
Just after 6:30 PM, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department got reports reporting persons reportedly carrying concealed firearms at the Arden-Arcade park. A second caller advised of a possible physical altercation and subjects running away.
Air support was sent to the area and searched the park but did not locate the reported fight.
Despite this, multiple hundreds of people had gathered at the park for what law enforcement classified as an unapproved assembly. Deputies formed a perimeter around the park, activated their vehicle emergency lights, and gave the crowd approximately 15 minutes ordering the crowd to disperse over loudspeakers.
As officers worked to clear the park, between 20 and 25 shots rang out — triggering a panicked crowd in every direction.
The Injured
Four shooting victims — a female and three male victims, ranging in age through their 20s — were taken to Sacramento area hospitals. Two were treated for immediate injuries, one sustained moderate injuries, and one was treated for minor injuries. All four were reported in stable condition. Sacramento Metro Fire provided medical assistance at the park.

The incident occurred on the Cottage Way corridor side of the park close to the nearby Home Depot at the 2200 block. What We Know About Suspects
According to scanner audio, it was established that a vehicle of interest — described as a Kia vehicle — was intercepted in Solano County with four detainees. Sacramento County Sheriff's units were dispatched to retrieve the detainees and transport them back to Sacramento County. Video evidence confirmed two gunmen were present.
